Oronogo woman victim of an advertising scam
ORONOGO, Mo. – The Better Business Bureau (BBB) has a warning about an advertising scam.
An Oronogo, Missouri woman reported that she had put an advertisement on her car from Aramark Corporation. They sent her a check that bounced. It ended up costing her about $500.
“What we are seeing is because there’s a lot of people right now looking for work,” said Stephanie Garland of the Regional BBB. “There’s a lot of people right now who just perhaps need assistance in different ways. So, we are seeing more employment scams as more people are looking potentially can move jobs.”
Garland says a huge red flag to look out for is if someone asks you to send them money before you can receive money.
