The U.S. Marshall Service says the convicted murderer who escaped from a county jail in Oklahoma is back behind bars. Officers arrested 34-year-old Patrick Walker in St. Louis, Missouri on Dec. 4th, 2018. He had escaped from the Payne County, Okla. jail last week when he impersonated another inmate who was being released on bond. Walker is serving a life sentence for murder.
Police identify the victim of a deadly shooting outside the University of Kansas Medical Center as 28-year-old Dominic Garcia of Kansas City, Kan. Police say Garcia and a woman apparently were wounded when gunfire erupted Dec. 5th, 2018 in Kansas City, Kan. Garcia then drove the woman to the hospital for help, while the gunman chased them to the medical center. Police say when they got to the hospital, Garica ran to the secured main entrance where he was shot again. The gunman then shot and killed himself. The hospital says the woman’s injuries are not life-threatening. No hospital employees were hurt.
Part of Joplin’s Memorial Education Center will soon undergo a nearly $700,000 face lift to welcome some new students. The district approved a contractor to begin work on the first floor of the building. Vacant classrooms will be renovated and converted for use by the Franklin Technology Center. Franklin Tech is moving three of its adult education programs to the 100-year-old memorial building.
Michael Flynn, the former National Security Adviser indicted by the Special Counsel of Robert Mueller, most likely will not spend any time in prison. Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about conversations with Russia. Mueller recommended Flynn serve no time behind bars, because of Flynn’s cooperation with the special counsel’s Russia investigation.
