Oliver hits grand slam, Gorillas top Arkansas Tech

The Pittsburg State Gorillas beat the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys 9-3 on Tuesday night in Springdale, Arkansas.

John Oliver hit a 5th-inning grand slam for Pitt State and drove in 5 runs in the game.

Kory Haught was the winning pitcher for the Gorillas. He threw two scoreless innings in relief of starter Justin Root. Pitt State pitchers shutout the Wonder Boys over the final six innings of the game.

Pittsburg State is now 21-17 overall. They’ll be back in action with a three-game series at home against Missouri Western beginning on Thursday.
