Oklahoma man killed after failing to yield to a semi

MAYES COUNTY, Okla. – A man dies following a wreck with a semi Tuesday evening at the intersection on US-69 and West 435 Road, about 1.5 miles south of Adair, Oklahoma.

According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol, it happened at 6:38 p.m. 57-year-old Mickey Hamilton of Tulsa, Oklahoma and his passenger, 74-year-old Carolyn Hamilton of Muskogee, Oklahoma,  were traveling west when their vehicle failed to yield at stop sign. They were hit by a northbound semi. Carolyn Hamilton was pinned in the car for an unknown amount of time, before be extricated by the Adair Fire Department.

Both were taken to St. John Medical Center in Tulsa where Mickey Hamilton was pronounced dead.  Carolyn Hamilton was admitted in stable condition with leg and arm injuries.

The semi driver was uninjured.
