Oklahoma Governor says President approved a major disaster declaration for the state

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – On Sunday, Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt announced that President Trump approved his request for a Major Disaster Declaration for the entire state of Oklahoma.

That declaration puts FEMA’s Pubic Assistance program into action, which provides federal funding for emergency protective measures and direct federal assistance for state and local governments.

The governor said he as also requested extra assistance including more disaster unemployment assistance, crisis counseling, disaster legal services, and other programs, which remain under review  by the White House.
