No t-storms to worry about today
Severe threat shifts away from the area
JOPLIN, Mo. — With our cold front and our upper level wave on the way out, we are seeing our skies turn mostly sunny for the rest of the day. That also means we will not have to worry about any additional showers or t-storms for the rest of the day.
Our departing systems have shifted the severe threat off to our north and east. We have slight and enhanced severe threats outlined from Wisconsin to parts of the Appalachian Mountain range. Those areas will have the better chances for t-storms with large hail and damaging winds as the main threats. Another slight risk has been outlined for parts of central and Western Texas. Those t-storms will fire with plenty of warmth, moisture and instability through the course of the afternoon. With little shear, though, they’ll be scattered with quick opportunities to produce some large hail.
