Two dead in crash of car, semi in north-central Kansas
BELLEVILLE, Kan. - The Kansas Highway Patrol says two people have been killed in a crash involving a semitrailer near Belleville in north central Kansas.
The crash happened Saturday on U.S. Highway 81 just north of U.S. Highway 36 when 62-year-old Steven Torres and 62-year-old Sherry Torres drove west on the U-36 off ramp, attempting to turn south onto the highway. A semi tractor traveling north struck the driver's door. The semi overturned coming to rest on U-81, temporarily blocking southbound traffic.
The Torres' died from their injuries.
The driver of the semi suffered minor injuries.
