Suspects charged after allegedly sharing video of robbery, assault in Joplin

JOPLIN, Mo. - Police arrest three people after a man is allegedly assaulted and robbed at gun point in Joplin, Missouri.

On September 30th, 2019, a victim reported a robbery to the Joplin Police Department. Authorities say the victim claims he was driven to a central location in the city and held at gun point and taser point.

While holding the victim at gun point, the suspects allegedly assaulted him and forced him to take his clothes off. The victim says the suspects then took his belongings, including money and medication, and left. 

Detectives with the Joplin Police Department opened an investigation into the robbery.

Police say they found that the suspects in the crime recorded parts of the incident, then shared footage on SnapChat, a social media site. Investigators got footage of the robbery and interviewed several people. 

Police arrested three Joplin residents.

The Prosecutor's Office has charged Trevin C. Dicks, 17, with first degree armed robbery, first degree kidnapping and two counts of armed criminal action. 

They filed charges of first degree armed robbery, first degree kidnapping and armed criminal action against Cayden B. Garvin, 18, and Ryan Mace-Canterbury, 18.

They all three appeared in court today and are awaiting bond hearings. They are being held in jail on no bonds.
