  • MISSING CHILDREN FOUND

Children of the woman police believe was found dead in McDonald County have been found. Authorities believe that woman is 25-year-old Jessica McCormack from Noel. The body was found along Highway 59 between Lanagan and Noel on July 29. The Missouri Highway Patrol had issued an endangered person advisory for the three children, but according to Sheriff Michael Hall the missing have since been located in iowa and in safe custody.

  • MAN WITH 100 ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION ENTERS WAL-MART, SUSPECT ARRESTED

A man armed with a rifle and more than 100 rounds of ammunition was arrested at a Missouri Wal-mart yesterday. The Springfield Police Department says they responded to a call of an active shooter at the Wal-mart Thursday evening. Police stated that a young male, appearing to be in his twenties was walking around the Wal-mart in body armor and military fatigues. Police say the man had tactical weapons. There were no shots fired and no one was injured. 

  • WET ROADS CAUSED I-49 WRECK

The Missouri Highway Patrol says wet roads played a role in a crash involving three vehicles. Authorities say a car was driving south on I-49 yesterday morning when the driver lost control on the wet road. The vehicle ran off the right side of the road, returned to the road and came to a stop, blocking both lanes. As traffic was trying to avoid the car, another driver was rear-ended by a semi truck. Two people received minor to moderate injuries.

  • FLOOD BUY BACK

The City of Neosho is trying to get funds so they can buy properties that were impacted by flooding in 2017. HUD has made more than $58 million in grant funding available to five zip codes in the state. One of those is Neosho. The funds will be used to either buy out properties and help home owners buy new homes, or pay to help a tenant living in a rental home move to somewhere else. The city is accepting surveys from residents in the buyout area.
