JOPLIN, Mo. (KOAM) - Damage caused by recent wet weather closed two trails at a popular Joplin park.
According to the Wildcat Glades Nature Group, the Red Trail between the Woodland Loop and Redings Mill Bridge is closed. A crack in the trail opened up along a portion of the walkway.
The Green Trail, also known as the Bluff Trail, is closed from the south side of the Redings Mill Bridge to Mother Nature's Gap as the bridge crossing area at Spring Creek is flooded.
A city of Joplin spokesperson said Joplin Parks and Recreation team members are assessing the damage.
Once the assessment is complete, a plan will be created for repairing the damage.
