Iola, Ks - The suspect in a southeast Kansas armed robbery turns himself in to authorities.  Aaron Hutton has been booked into the Allen County jail.  Authorities say Hutton robbed a Cash Advance America in Iola last week at gunpoint.  They then pursued Hutton, but lost track of him after he entered the Neosho River.  Hutton has been charged with aggravated robber, kidnapping, and theft by threat.

Mountain Grove, Mo - The search for a missing three-year-old girl in Mountain Grove Missouri has ended with eh discovery of her body.  Crews found the body of Vivian Fitzenrider in a pond on the morning of Wednesday, August 28th.  The Highway Patrol says she was outside with one parent.  That parent thought she went inside.  The family noticed her missing around 5:30 P.M. on Tuesday night and called for help less than an hour later.  There is an investigation for every child death.  At this point, authorities don't suspect any foul play.

Webb City, Mo - A new law requires background checks for school volunteers in Missouri.  The law dictates that nay volunteer who might be alone with a student has to undergo a full criminal background check.  Before, all employees had to pass background checks, but volunteers didn't.  The law also dictates that volunteers who haven't been screened can't be left alone with students or have any access to student records.

Miami, Ok - The Miami city manager and mayor believe the persistent flooding in the city can be blamed on backwater from Grand Lake.  The backwater should be released from the Pensacola Dam.  The Grand River Dam authority is up for relicensing with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.  The city wants it to force the GRDA to buy 12-thousand acres of property that regularly flood as easements.  However, U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe is behind an amendment that would shift release control of the corp. of engineers and that would also not hold the GRDA responsible.
