Kansas City, Ks - Police have arrested one of the suspects in a shooting in Kansas City.  Javier Alatorre was taken into custody early this morning in Kansas City, Missouri.  9 People were shot with 4 people dying.  It happened around 1:30 A.M. on Sunday morning two people with hand guns open fired at at The Tequila KC Bar.  While the victims are Hispanic, police say they don't believe it was a hate crime.  There were about 40 people in the private club when the shooting happened.

Carthage, Mo - Carthage is mourning the death of a teen in a car crash Friday night n Harmony Road.  16-year-old Archer Lambeth was killed after the truck he was driving left the road, veered across the other side before skidding into a tree and catching fire.  A 15-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries.  In a Facebook posting, Principle Matt Huntley of Carthage High School said the school and tech center will make counselors available beginning today for faculty, students, and staff.  Lambeth was a sophomore.

Joplin, Mo - Missouri Southern's Career Services Department teamed up with JC Penney to host its first ever "Suit Up' sale.  The event gives students a 30 percent discount on top of weekend sales on thousand's of professional wear items.  Students got deals on clothing, accessories, and luggage.  The idea is to prepare these up and coming professionals with wardrobes ready for life after college at an affordable price.

Joplin, Mo - Expanding Medicaid is the goal of a ballot initiative, so Yesterday, volunteers learned about gathering signatures.  Training took place at the Joplin Library.  Their goal is to gather 172,000 signatures.  The ballot initiative gives voters the chance to expand Missouri Medicaid eligibility to people making under $18,000 a year or $30,000 a year for a family of three.  Volunteers learned the do's and don'ts of how to petition.
