PITTSBURG, Kan. - Pittsburg Police arrest two people related to an assault that allegedly involved a fraternity.

The assault happened on Sunday morning, September 15th, around 1:30 am in the 1900 block of South Broadway Street in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Pittsburg Police Officers were called to the police station around 6:00 am about a person wanting to report being involved in a physical altercation.

Authorities say two victims, including the reporting party, received serious injuries during the altercation. 

Cell phone video sent to KOAM shows a fight that happened close to Pittsburg State University. The video shows a group of men arguing and fighting with one man, and another continues to be shoved away. At one point, someone ends up on the ground surrounded by people.

Dylan Lawrence, 21, and Allan Wilkinson, 20, were the victims. Lawrence and Wilkinson were taken to Via Christi by a friend, and Lawrence was taken to the KU medical center in Kansas City from there via ambulance. Both had broken jaws, and Lawrence has a tear in his airway. One of the victims' parents spoke to KOAM in a previous story.

Investigators interviewed several witnesses to try to identify those involved in the incident.

On Monday, October 7th around 2:20 pm, investigators found and arrested one of the two primary suspects in the altercation in the 1900 block of S. Broadway Street. They arrested a 21-year-old from Raymore, Missouri for felony aggravated battery, misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor disorderly conduct. He was later released on a $25,000 bond.

Later that evening, police arrested the other primary suspect, a 25-year-old Pittsburg resident. Authorities say he turned himself in without incident at the Police Department. They arrested him for aggravated battery and misdemeanor disorderly conduct. He was later released on a $25,000 bond.

According to the Crawford County Attorney, until police send over reports, his office can not look into filing official charges in the case.

The investigation is ongoing.
