AVILLA, Mo. – Joplin for Justice calls for Jasper County Commissioner John Bartosh to resign after a Tiktok video surfaces showing his son singing racist lyrics. In the video, Bartosh’s 16-year-old son is seen holding an open beer at Bernie’s Bar in Avilla while singing racist lyrics to Alabama’s “Song of the South.” His father has since released a statement saying that while there is no excuse for this bad behavior, he was involved in a car crash last week and sustained a head injury.

JOPLIN, Mo. – The FBI, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and local authorites continue the search for a missing Joplin girl. 14-year-old Leora Hardee was reported missing on September 17th. Yesterday crews searched areas in the north part of town including a wooded area north of Ozark Christian College.

JOPLIN, Mo. – The State of Missouri loosens restrictions on long term nursing facilities. Nursing homes can now allow general visits. The facility has to be covid free for 14 days, and they have to set up a room where two visitors could spend time with a resident. They would also have to social distance. Long term care facilities will additionally allow outside heath care professionals in.
