PHILIDELPHIA, Penn. – President Biden heads to Philadelphia today to keep pitching his ambitious economic and social agenda. His multi-trillion dollar proposals are aimed at rebuilding infrastructure, creating jobs and providing aid to families. The president spoke about his plans at a drive-in rally in Georgia on Thursday, his one hundredth day in office.

LABETTE COUNTY, Kan. – A Labette County, Kansas judge sentences a parsons woman for hitting and killing her boyfriend with her car. Authorities say 30-year-old Tiffany Jakee was driving south on U.S. 59 when she passed another vehicle in a no-passing zone, drove partially onto the shoulder, and hit William Treiber, who was walking on the shoulder. Treiber died at the scene. Jakee is sentenced to 14 years in prison after pleading no contest to second degree murder, two counts of aggravated endangering a child, and driving under the influence.

JOPLIN, Mo. – A jury finds a Joplin man guilty on 10 counts of charges related to child sexual abuse. Authorities say in 2017 Daniel Franklin paid a group of minors to quote “party naked” with him. Franklin was found guilty on charges including multiple counts of statutory sodomy, statutory rape, and unlawful use of a weapon.

JOPLIN, Mo. – Authorities arrest two people following an armed robbery at a Joplin convenience store. It happened Wednesday night at the Kum and Go on South Main. Authorities say a man went into the store, brandished a knife, and demanded money. Authorities say the suspect is Robert Castro. He was arrested later after a Joplin police officer tracked the car down. He was arrested in connection with the robbery and outstanding warrants. The alleged driver, Madison Shores, was also arrested.
