NEODESHA, Kan. – A new non profit is trying to help kids in foster home feel like they always have a place to call home. So Home Kids is working to renovate a nine thousand square foot property in Neodesha into a group home. But not just any group home, one that goes above and beyond for kids. They plan to focus on keeping siblings together, and provide a safe and loving place for kids to call home in between foster placements.

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – If you have young kids, you know the song, “baby shark”. Well, some former detention officers in Oklahoma City are facing charges for allegedly punishing inmates by making them listen to the children’s song at high volume for hours. The officers are facing misdemeanor charges of cruelty to prisoners and conspiracy

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Attorneys for the NAACP and the League of Women voters are calling on the Missouri Supreme court to ease requirements for voting. At issue, a requirement that some people who vote by mail or absentee must have a notarized envelope with their ballot. Those 65 and older, or those who live in a long-term care facility or have certain existing health problems don’t need a notary. But the advocacy groups want to remove the requirement across the board. Supporters of the notarization requirement say it helps deter fraud.

NEW ORLEANS, La – Parts of the gulf coast are bracing for Hurricane Delta. Forecasters expected the storm to gain strength and make landfall in Louisiana on Friday. Delta is expected to bring destructive winds and flooding….to areas ravaged by Hurricane Laura this summer.
