JOPLIN, MO. – Pfizer began shipping nearly three million doses Sunday from its Michigan factory to all 50 states. The state of Missouri says more than 50 thousand Pfizer vaccines will be sent to the state this week. Officials hope to start vaccinating healthcare workers and long term care residents and staff as early as Thursday. Oklahoma will follow a similar plan with the first 33-thousand doses arriving as early as Wednesday.
PITTSBURG, Kan. – Pittsburg police have arrest a suspect in connection to a string of armed robberies. Officers were dispatched to Pete’s Friday night where an armed robbery had just taken place. Detectives quickly developed a suspect and made an arrest shortly after midnight on Saturday. Items located in a search of the suspect’s home in Pittsburg connected him to the armed robbery committed at the Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas as well as an armed robbery at a Snak-Atak.
PITTSBURG, Kan. – A fire at an apartment complex in Pittsburg led to one person jumping from a window. Around 4 am yesterday morning, Pittsburg Fire and Police departments responded to a four unit apartment complex on South Walnut Street. Heavy flames left victims trapped inside, but all residents were able escape. Authorities say the person who jumped through the window sustained injuries, but received medical treatment and has been released. Another resident is being treated in Springfield for burns.
FORT SCOTT, KAN. – A Fort Scott man is dead after a crash in Linn County, Kansas Saturday. According to Kansas Highway Patrol, 25-year-old Brett Michael Johnson was driving his car north on Front Street in Prescott when he crossed the road to the left and hit a tree. He died from his injuries. His passenger was taken to Overland Park Memorial hospital with a suspected serious injury.
