INDEPENDENCE, Kan. – KBI and the Independence police department made an arrest yesterday evening connected to the murders of two Independence men. Authorities served a warrant at the Labette County jail a little after 5:00 pm to 18-year old James T.S. Gofourth. The warrant alleges Gofourth comitted two counts of first degree murder in the deaths of 27-year old Tyler Cook and 24-year old Rodricus Dawson, along with one count of attempted first degree murder for injuring a 27-year old Independence woman.

CARTHAGE, Mo. – The Carthage community enjoyed a “make up Maple Leaf Parade” after the annual event was canceled due to Covid-19 concerns. The owner of a business on the square held the event to help keep a bit of the tradition alive. The parade went on a route about a half mile down grand avenue, and featured around 40 entries. Several people dressed up in costumes for the occasion, marching through Carthage.

MIAMI, Okla. – Plenty of local supporters of President Trump made their voices heard by having a tractor and truck caravan in Miami, Oklahoma. The windy weather ensured that the many “Trump 2020” flags covering the various vehicles were out on full display. The parade started at the Five Star Ranch and made its way down Highway 10 before turning around at the Welch intersection.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Trump holds rallies in Arizona today after weekend campaign stops in Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada and California. Democratic Nominee Joe Biden traveled to the battleground state of North Carolina sunday urging residents to vote at a drive-in rally. A new CBS news battleground tracker poll shows president trump trailing the former vice president in Wisconsin, a state President Trump narrowly won in 2016. He also trails biden in Arizona.
