Nevada’s Everett Forkner named 2020 Saddle and Sirloin Portrait Award recipient

NEVADA, Mo. – Over in Vernon County today, a special ceremony where Richards, Missouri native Everett Forkner received the livestock industry’s highest award, the 2020 Saddle and Sirloin Portrait.

This award was established in 1903 and served to recognize key leaders in the livestock industry.

Forkner’s Family Farm in Nevada consists of 2,000 acres of crops, a swine genetics company, a premium pork marketing branch and a purebred cattle operation.

Along with this honor comes the establishment of the Everett and Ruby Forkner Livestock Judging Fund at the University of Missouri and the Forkner Family Visionary Leadership Fund to support programs of the National Junior Swine Association.

Forkner’s portrait will hang in the Livestock Industry Hall of Fame located in Louisville, Kentucky.
