Neosho in 1st heading to final day of Missouri state wrestling championships

The Wildcats have six wrestlers aiming for individual state titles Saturday.

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Neosho Wildcats are aiming for their 9th state wrestling championship in the last 11 years, and heading into Saturday, they’re in a good spot.

Neosho is currently sitting in first place in the class 3 team standings, 52 points ahead of 2nd-place Lebanon heading into the final day at state. The Wildcats have six guys who have advanced to the final round in their respective weight classes; Raymond Hembree (106 lb), Kolton Sanders (132 lb), Cayden Auch (152 lb), Jeremiah Larson (182 lb), Drayke Perry (220 lb) and Zane Persinger (285 lb).

In all, 14 local guys are aiming for individual state championships Saturday. Below is a complete list of finalists from the area. Championship matches will begin at 4:30 PM Saturday in Columbia.
