Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO) will host Sheriff Derek Derwin and sheriff candidate Mr. Jeremy Floyd for a public forum. The event will take place in the Commons Hall Auditorium on the NEO campus at 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 13. Social Science Instructor Tom Callan will moderate the forum and present questions submitted by citizens of Miami, Okla. and the surrounding area.

Sheriff Derwin is the incumbent Democratic candidate and Mr. Floyd is the Republican challenger seeking the office. The forum is intended to educate the electorate and allow the candidates a chance to share their views on issues including departmental budget, reform, and drug issues, among others.

The format for this event is a prepared forum, with candidates reviewing the questions in advance of the event. The community is encouraged to attend.

The deadline for voter registration is October 14, so there is still time to register. For more information on the forum, please contact Jordan Adams at 918-540-6211 or Jordan.m.adams@neo.edu.
