MSSU students clearing out of the dorms donate to Habitat for Humanity
As the school year comes to an end at Missouri Southern, students living on campus were given the opportunity on Thursday to recycle some of their dorm furnishings.
The items go the Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity and will be sold in an effort to raise funds to build homes in the area.
“We’re excited about this opportunity to try to get some of the things as people are moving out,” says Barbie Huff, Habitat for Humanity Director of Development. “Their donations are going to turn into dollars that we can build Habitat homes with and that’s just a really good, feel good, kind of win, win, win, situation.”
The Habitat for Humanity ReStore truck will be on the MSSU campus again on Friday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
