MSSU prepares for big test, first conference road game

The Lions are 2-0 in the conference and have won four straight

JOPLIN, Mo. – The Missouri Southern women are on a roll right now. The Lions have won four games in a row including their first two conference games against Central Oklahoma and Newman last week.

Southern now has the whole week to prepare before facing Rogers State on Saturday in their first MIAA road game.

“It’s a nice start,” says head coach Ronnie Ressel. “That’s all it is though, is a start. There are 20 more conference games to go. It’s good that we won two at home. It’s extremely important that you win your home games. If you want to finish in the top half of this league, you have to take care of your home court and then you have to find ways to win on the road. Offensively, Rogers State  is very good. They’ve got multiple kids that can score the basketball from the perimeter and from the inside, so they’re going to be a big challenge.”
