MSSU helps college bound students fill out the FAFSA, a Free Federal Application for Federal Student Aid.

The April 1st priority deadline is fast approaching for students to qualify for financial aid.

Everyone who applies is entitled to a direct unsubsidized government loan and some may qualify for a federal Pell Grant, state aid, and other scholarships.

“People need to know that the FAFSA takes time. That even after they fill it out, they need to double check with the institution that they are filling it out for and make sure that there’s no additional documentation needed. Because a lot of times those things could be missed,” says Title IV Aid & Compliance Counselor Julia Jensen.

The FAFSA is 100 questions and takes about 20 to 30 minutes to complete.

Tax information and W-2’s are needed.

The MSSU financial aid office will be open to all college bound students, whether going to MSSU or not, to help with any questions.
