MSSU gaining experience, depth amid hot conference start

MSSU is 2-0 in conference play ahead of first road contest against Rogers State

JOPLIN, Mo. – The Southern men are 2-0  in the MIAA and have won three in a row. The Lions have had to work for it, winning those first two league games by two points and four points.
It’s a young team, so it’s a good sign to be able to finish those games off.

“We’ve got to keep on getting better,” says head coach Jeff Boschee. “There’s a lot of things we need to work on. We’re still pretty inexperienced but slowly but surely Martin Macenis is getting a lot more experience, Avery Taggart is getting a lot more time. We’re able to get those guys in there and start to feel a little bit more comfortable. With RJ Smith being out, it’s a blessing in disguise with some of these guys being able to get some experience. Once we get RJ back, we know we have a lot more depth.”
