MSSU Dean of Education Dr. Alfred Cade dies at age 54

Dr. Alfred Cade passed away Saturday after a long battle with cancer. He was the Dean of Education at Missouri Southern State University, as well as a longtime faculty and senior administrator.

Dr. Cade earched his bachelor of science degree in education in 1983 and a master of science in education from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville. He later earned his doctorate in education in 2001 from St. Louis University.

He first joined MSSU in 1984 as a physical education instructor in the department of Kenesiology and as an assistant football coach. Dr. Cade returned to Northwest Missouri State University in the Department of health and later went to teach a Minnesota State University-Mankato State.

Dr. Cade returned to MSSU in 1996 as the assistant to the Dean of Education. He leaves behind his wife, Dorothy, and children, Christopher and Keisha.
