Motorcycle hits and kills pedestrian in Newton County

A motorcycle driver in Newton County hits and kills a pedestrian.

The accident happened on Saturday, September 14, a little after 9 p.m. when 20-year-old Trey Millikin was driving northbound on Raccoon Road, one mile east of Granby, Missouri.

According to Missouri Highway Patrol, Millikin lost control of his motorcycle, hitting a pedestrian on the road: 42-year-old Kenneth Arehart.

Arehart was taken to Mercy Hospital in Joplin where he died not long after.

This is Troop D’s 80th fatality this year.
