Monday’s Child: Meet Oshea and Athena

KANSAS – Around 500 Kansas kids in foster care are waiting to be adopted. Today on KOAM News at Noon, we highlight animal-loving sisters Oshea and Athena.

Anyone interested in becoming an adoptive parent may visit the Adopt Kansas Kids website at or email

Oshea and Athena would like to join a patient, loving, and highly structured family that also loves animals!

Oshea would like to be a veterinarian when she grows up. She enjoys drawing, reading, swimming, riding her bike, cooking, and baking. She said she’d like to join a family that has children who are her age or older. She wants a family that loves her and wants to have her around.

Athena enjoys playing dress-up, doing puzzles, coloring, singing, riding her bike, and playing with Play-Doh. She’d like to be a dancer, a unicorn or a cowgirl when she grows up. Athena said she’d like her “no matter what” mom to be like a princess and let her get dressed up in fancy dresses, with fancy hair.

Both girls would benefit from a very patient, structured family that is knowledgeable about parenting children who have experienced trauma.

Only families living in Kansas are being considered at this time.
