Monday Evening Blog: Drizzle tonight with rain and snow chances.
Drizzle tonight with rain and snow chances.
Good Monday evening! I hope your work week has started off great! Mine has been pretty good so far. I am actually off one day tomorrow due to working last night for Nick. So I will get some house cleaning done but will keep you updated with the weather. We got some pretty good rains over the past 24 hours. Check this out.
South of I-44 was mainly 1/2-1″ of rain. However, north of I-44, we had most areas in the 1-3″ with isolated 4″ amounts. Thankfully all of the heavy rains are out of here as we have picked up some flash flooding. We will see the drizzle sticking around tonight and tomorrow morning. So the roads will mainly stay wet. Showers (light) will pick back up tomorrow afternoon.
As colder air works in during the evening hours, we will see a switch over to snow showers. Most of these will be light and it will be wet snow. I really think most of the roads will just stay wet but we will watch it. So, snow showers for Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning.
These will work out Wednesday morning. If we have accumulations, they will be on the light side.
Most of us will have very light accumulations with a dusting upwards to maybe 1/2″. Areas shaded in blue will also have light accumulations. As of right now it looks like 1/2-1″ of snow but a few 1″+ in isolated areas. We stay chilly the rest of the week. Let me show you why.
We are in a NW flow. A NW flow means the jet stream is coming from the NW. So, this continues to pump in cooler Canadian air through the week. However, we will jump back into the 50s ahead of our next storm system for early next week. Long range forecast is below.
Long range forecast through the middle of April:
Next Week: Rain right back in to start the week on Monday. Rain chances continue on Tuesday and into Wednesday. As colder air works in, we could see some snow on the backside of the system. Staying cool until the weekend when temperatures warm right back up. However, showers and thunderstorms for the weekend.
