Silver Haired Legislators in Missouri
Older adults in the area aren't just sitting on the sidelines.
Created in 1973, the Silver Haired Legislature is an elected body of Missouri Citizens 60 and older. They advocate for the needs of seniors.
This morning at 8:00 A.M., delegates met with legislators in Jefferson City to discuss the achievement and current priorities of older adults living in Missouri. We spoke with Jennifer Shotwell, CEO of the Joplin Area Agency on Aging, about how members of the Silver Haired Legislators pushed through legislation that helped senior citizens.
