Missouri Southern #3 in first regional rankings

The top 8 in each region will make the national tournament at the end of the season

The Missouri Southern men’s basketball team is ranked No. 3 in the first set of Central Region Rankings as released by the NCAA this afternoon.

The Lions are one of three MIAA teams in the poll as Northwest Missouri is No. 1 and Rogers State is No. 7. This is the first of three polls that will be released by the NCAA basketball committee prior to the final poll on selection Sunday.

Southern is ranked 17th nationally in the Coaches’ Poll and 16th in the Media Poll. The Lions are 19-5 overall this season and 12-3 in the MIAA.

Southern will continue MIAA play this week as the Lions travel to Northwest Missouri and Missouri Western.
