Missouri passes new public safety training for police
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo – Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft approves new training standards for Missouri police officers.
Missouri police are required to take annual continuing education courses on de-escalation techniques as well as learning ways to recognize implicit biases for law enforcement officers.
The new measure will be effective as of January 1st, 2020.
If officers fail to take the courses, they run the risk of losing their licenses.
