Missouri Governor Mike Parson announces changes to quarantine guidance for schools
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Missouri Governor Mike Parson announced changes to the quarantine guidance for students and educators in the state during his press conference Thursday.
The changes are similar to a policy adopted in September by the Newton County Health Department Board for schools there. The changes announced by the Governor allow students and staff who are close contacts of a positive COVID case to remain in school so long as the following criteria has been met:
- The district or charter school has a mask mandate in place
- The close contact was wearing a mask properly at the time of exposure
- They close contact does not exhibit any COVID-19 symptoms
We’ll have more on these changes and hear from local districts tonight on KOAM News.
