Missing juvenile in Neosho found

Authorities state the 12-year-old may have left the residence under her own will.

On 05-10-22, the Neosho Police Department took a report of a runaway/ missing juvenile, Itali Renee Savage (age 12). After 2 days of searching and following up on leads, Itali was spotted by her stepmother walking northbound on I49 near Highway 86 at approximately 01:08 Hrs on the morning of 05-12-22.

The stepmother was able to get Itali into her vehicle and met with officers shortly after. She was later released to grandparents for the evening. A further investigation will be conducted.

The Neosho Police Department would like to thank the citizens of Neosho for helping in the search for Itali. A special thanks goes out to members of the Newton County Sheriff’s Office, Goodman Police Department, CAM Search and Rescue Group from Bolivar Mo, Four States Rescue, K-9 Penny with the Arkansas Alliance of Bloodhound Specialists and her handlers from Berryville, Ark., and the numerous citizens who helped with the search and neighborhood canvas.

ORIGINAL: NEOSHO, Mo. — Authorities in Newton County, Mo. are seeking the whereabouts of a juvenile who was last seen in her home early Tuesday morning, May 10.

The Neosho Police Department took a report of a missing juvenile, Itali Renee Savage. Itali was last seen in her home on 05-10-22. Itali may have left the residence under her own will.” — NPD

According to Detective Dan Cook, Itali has health issues and the heat can affect those issues. The PD states, “At this time Itali has not been found, and it was reported that Itali had recently been ill.”

In a release from the Neosho Police Department today, May 11, 2022, authorities say an extensive search of the immediate area of South Hearrell Avenue has been conducted but yielded no results. The Police Department states that Itali has a history of running away from home.

Authorities are asking for Neosho residents living east of Oakridge Drive to check their outbuildings. The last time she ran away, authorities say she was located in an outbuilding.

RELEASE OF INFORMATION: “On May 10, 2022 at 8:15 a.m., the Neosho Police Dept was notified of a missing juvenile in South Hearrell area.

It was later reported that Itali Renee Savage, a 12-year-old female appeared to have run away from home. An extensive search of the immediate area has been conducted but yielded no results. Itali has a history of running away from home and was found during a previous incident hiding in a nearby storage building.

At this time Itali has not been found, and it was reported that Itali had recently been ill. Itali was last seen wearing a gray colored sherpa hoody and pink colored snake printed pants.

The Neosho Police Dept is asking for assistance from the public. A missing persons flyer has been posted on the City of Neosho website and we are asking all citizens to check all buildings on their property. If anyone finds Itali please immediately call Central Dispatch at 417-451-8333.” — Chief Jason Baird
