15 motorcyclists, all part of Scott’s Ride For Miracles, arrived in town. They are riding together across 48 states in 21 days to raise $1 million for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Scott Ressmeyer started the cross-country motorcycle trek in 2009. On Friday, he and his biking comrades started the trip from Columbus, Georgia. Each rider pays his way and is responsible for raising money during the endeavor.

Ressmeyer says one of the best parts of the journey is meeting people from across the United States.

“Traveling through the country like this and hitting the smaller towns and getting off the beat and path, you realize how beautiful America really is,” said Ressmeyer. “But more importantly, you realize how great the people in America are.”

The Miracle Riders met with locals later in the evening over barbecue. To track their location, visit rideformiracles.com.
