May 27, 1949 - February 12, 2022

Michael “Mike” Leroy Campbell, age 72, Joplin, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at his home with family at his side.

Mike was born May 27, 1949 in Joplin, son of the late Jay Campbell Sr and Anna (Nelson) Campbell.  He grew up in Joplin and graduated from Joplin High School.  He worked for Automatic Cigarette, before beginning his career with Modine Manufacturing.  He worked for over 30 years with Modine, working in several different departments, and finally in the Shipping and Receiving area.  He retired in 2007.

He was a member of the Faith Tabernacle of Joplin.  He loved spending time with his family. His passion in life was fishing and he had fished in Canada, the Gulf, the Atlantic and in many lakes, rivers and strip pits. He loved sharing his fishing skills with whomever wanted to learn.  When he came in with a stringer full, people would ask where he had caught all those fish, and his standard response was,“in the mouth!”   He will be greatly missed by many.

In addition to his parents, he mourned the loss of a grandson, Cody Barbanera.
