Miami Police Search for Suspects After Shots Fired Outside a Home

Miami, OK police say armed men are on the run after an early morning shooting at a home on G street northwest. 15 shell casings were found at the scene and gunshots left holes in the home. The homeowner feared talking on camera but told KOAM he did not know the men he saw outside his home.

Police issued the following press release:


At approx. 0226 on 9-29-18 Miami Police Dept. received a call of multiple gunshots in the area of 28 G ST NW. Upon Arrival we learned the resident of 28 G ST NW stated he went outside his residence and observed two unknown African American males outside his house with guns. He then ran back inside the house and heard several pops. There were approx. 15 shell casings found outside the residence. The house had several bullet holes in it. There were no injuries during this incident.

The suspects then fled the scene in a small dark colored car and were pursued by police. The suspects crashed their car in the area of BJ Tunnell and P ST NW and fled on foot into a wooded area. The suspects are still at large in the area. They are considered armed at this time.
