Miami High School FFA students help restore the old Sunbeam Farms to it’s original glory.

Students spent the day clearing brush, fixing fences, and painting them a fresh coat of white. The Future Farmers felt it was time to give back to a family who has a long history in the local community serving as local judges and leading the American Angus Association. Shelby Brown grew up on the farm and says she’s thankful for the kids generosity.

“My children will be the fifth generation family members to partake of this farm. It’s just really special to have all these people helping us restore it and restore the fences,” says Brown.

FFA student Shelby Hubbard says “I think it’s going to be meaningful for them because they know that we care how much our community looks and how their property will look.”

Once all the fences are repaired the kids will use the old wood they gathered for a big bonfire and weenie roast tonight.
