Memorial Hall in Joplin temporarily closes its doors following a partial roof collapse
JOPLIN, Mo – Joplin’s Memorial Hall will close until further notice following a partial roof collapse.
On June 15th, the southwest corner of Joplin Memorial Hall experienced a roof collapse; No one was in the building at the time.
Parks and Recreation Director Paul Bloomberg and other city officials have received an initial assessment after consultation with structural engineers.
The City has temporarily closed Memorial Hall following the assessment for immediate repairs.
The City will continue with the Memorial Hall Study that was planned to be completed in upcoming weeks with the contract being awarded in an upcoming City Council meeting.
