Melvin Nixon

Melvin R. Nixon, 97, of Noel, Missouri, left this life on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at the McDonald County Living Center, in Anderson, Missouri.

Melvin entered this life on Saturday, January 10, 1925, in Arapahoe, Colorado, born to the late Ray Nixon and Lola E. (Flesher) Nixon. He married Gertrude May (Hunter) Nixon on January 9, 1954. Throughout the years they shared together, he always made sure to buy her roses on their anniversary. In his spare time, he taught an adult bible class, enjoyed bird watching, tending to his chickens, and listening to gospel music. He was a good Christian man and loved the lord.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his son, Aubrey Nixon; two sisters; two brothers; and one grandchild.

Melvin is survived by his daughters, Martha Hanna and Gertrude Ann Nixon.

Graveside services for Melvin will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at the Noel Cemetery in Noel, Missouri. Pastor Robert Cartwright will officiate.
