Melba A. Weaver

Melba A. Weaver of Fairland, Oklahoma passed away on January 18, 2022, at her residence. She was 82.
Melba Weaver was born August 27, 1939, in Southwest City, Missouri to Floyd L. Barnes and Jewell E. Barnes (Cooper). She graduated from Southwest City High School in 1957 and from Draughan’s Business College in Tulsa in 1958. She married George Weaver on November 28, 1963, in Southwest City. Her working career included employment with Nichols Brothers’ Stores in Southwest City as clerk and bookkeeper, Orkin Exterminators in Tulsa as Secretary, Weaver’s Hardware in Fairland as clerk and as a computer operator for Don Hume Leather Goods Manufacturing of Miami. She then entered the financial field as a teller and bookkeeper at Miami National Bank, Victor Federal Savings & Loan, Boatman’s Bank, Nation’s Bank, and retired from Superior Federal Bank, Miami as Personal Banker in September of 1998. All these financial institutions except Miami National Bank were at the same location in Miami with name changes due to an unsettled time in the Financial Industry. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Fairland and was the Sunday School Secretary and Financial Secretary. She also enjoyed going to Flea Markets.
She is preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Jewell Barnes a sister Darlene Leas and her husband Jim, and a brother Lloyd Barnes.
She is survived by her husband George, her son Robert Wayne Weaver and his wife, Melanie of Fairland, her daughter Tami Weaver- Geary and her husband Dan of Pembroke Pines, Florida, one brother Lawrence Barnes of Frisco, Texas and a sister-in-law Lynn Barnes of Southwest City, Missouri. Her grandchildren include Cameron C. Weaver and his son David Weaver, Miranda J. Weaver and her son Korbin, Alex Weaver and her sons Robby Weaver, James Weaver, Xander Mulleneaux, Bodhi Mulleneaux and Decklyn Mulleneaux, Tiffanie Weaver and her son Ryland Grimm, C.J. Weaver, Torie Frye and her sons Zayden and Raymond Frye, Taylor Mercer and her husband Garette and their son Alaric, along with a close family friend Trent Ryan and his family.
A Memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Fairland with Reverend Andy Krebs officiating. Visitation will follow until 4:00 PM. Services are under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairland.
