McDonald County water rescue after vehicle is swept off bridge

 

MCDONALD COUNTY, Mo. – The McDonald County Sheriff’s office responds to a water rescue on Buzzard Glory Road just east of Route KK in McDonald County, Missouri.

According to the McDonald County Sheriff’s department, on Monday, March 16th,  a driver attempted to cross a low water bridge while flood water was running over it. The vehicle was swept off the bridge by the flood waters before coming to a rest slightly down stream. The driver opened their sunroof to climb on top of the vehicle where they remained until responders could safely rescue him.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Marine Division assisted with the rescue, along with the Washburn Fire Department and the White Rock Fire Department.

Sheriff Mike Hall would like to remind drivers to not cross roadways or bridges with floodwater running across them.Mcdonald Co Water Rescue
