December 31, 1937 - November 8, 2022
Marvin Gregory went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 8, 2022, at his home with his loving wife, Mardina by his side.
Marvin was born December 31, 1937 north of Coyville, KS on the family farm, where he grew up. His mother was older when his little sister Maxine was born, and Marvin helped raise her. He attended school in Coyville, graduating from Coyville High School.
Marvin served in the U.S. Army, and was in the Korean War. When he came home from Korea, he was met at the plane by his brother Melvin, who had a friend with him named Mardina Martens. He immediately fell in love and wanted to lean over her shoulder and kiss her right then, but knew he’d be in trouble. They were inseparable after that, and were married on December 24, 1962 in Wheat Ridge, CO.
Marvin was a police officer in the city of Golden, CO for many years. He and Mardina returned to Kansas to be with his ailing father, and they decided to stay. He then worked and retired from the Fredonia Power Plant. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Fredonia, and was a Sunday school teacher for many years.
As a couple, Marvin and Mardina loved to go fishing, camping, and driving around looking at the sights. Everything they did, they did together.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Mardina of the home, and his sister, Maxine Lorentz
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Melvin Gregory.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at the First Christian Church in Fredonia, KS
Memorial contributions in honor of Marvin can be made to the First Christian Church and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
