Marlene Doris Hintz

Marlene Doris Hintz, 81, of Carl Junction, Missouri, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021 at The Communities of Wildwood Ranch.
Marlene was born June 9, 1939 in Elgin, North Dakota to the late Arthur Tietz and Lydia (Baesler) Tietz. Marlene attended school in North Dakota, graduating from New Leipzig High School in 1957. On November 28, 1957, Marlene was united in marriage to Murlin Hintz in Bellevue, Washington. They shared 63 precious years together before her passing.
Marlene worked for North Central Airlines and Boeing Aircraft before returning to North Dakota. There she worked side by side with her husband owning and operating a mobile home park from 1959-1968. Employment took them also to LeMars, Iowa and Valley City, North Dakota where Marlene was instrumental in the Welcome Wagon Hostess Organization and Women’s Bowling Leagues in those cities. In 1979 Marlene and Murlin settled in Joplin, Missouri. Together they owned and operated Country Acres Mobil Home Community and Tiffany Terrace Mobile Home Park before retiring in 2003.
Marlene was a long-time member of Peace Lutheran Church and also the Show-Me Harmony Chorus (Sweet Adelines International). She loved anything strawberry and had a smile that could light up any room. Marlene cherished the time she was able to spend with family and friends and the memories created with them. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by a brother, Duane Tietz.
She is lovingly survived by her husband, Murlin; son, Mark Hintz and wife, Ardis of Milbank, South Dakota; daughter, Margo Byrd and husband, Mitch of Carl Junction, Missouri; grandchildren, Brock Byrd, Ben Byrd, Wayne Peschong and partner, Karla, Paul Peschong and wife, Jodi, and Troy Peschong and wife, Tamara; great grandchildren, Dustin, Nathan, Brandon and wife, Audrey, Presley, Jersey, Alyssa and husband, Lance, and Jesse; great-great grandchildren, Grayson, Blair, Carson, and Haley; brothers, Gary Tietz and wife, Nyla, Bruce Tietz and wife, Roxanne, and Brian Tietz; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, brother-in-law’s, sister-in-law’s, extended family and friends.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2021 at Parker Mortuary with Pastor Rich Gates officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, April 25, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Peace Lutheran Church in care of the mortuary.
