Margie Spangler

Margie Spangler of Severy, Kansas passed away on July 20, 2022 in Bentonville, Arkansas. She was 92 years old.

Margie was born to Wilma and Oliver Flinn on December 6, 1929, in Wichita. Margie married John Spangler on December 23, 1946, in Wichita. The couple had two children, Deborah and Dexter.

John and Margie moved to Severy in 1960 where they opened a bait store which they ran until 1972. Margie worked there as well as working 17 years for Cessna Aircraft in Wichita. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.

Margie is survived by two children, Deborah Spunaugle of Durham, N.C. and Dexter Spangler of Golden, MO.; three granddaughters, Brenda Spangler and Brandi Spangler, both of Helena, Mont., and Dee Ann Lazaro of Hays; and two sisters, Olita McGee of Grove, Okla. and Donna Holt of Wichita.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Wilma and Oliver Flinn; husband, John Spangler; granddaughter, Traci Spangler; brothers, William, Robert and Virgil, and sisters Gwendoln, Doris, JoAnn, Patricia, Caroline and Detsy.

A memorial service to honor Margie will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at the Severy United Methodist Church in Severy, Kansas

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Circle of Life Hospice and can be mailed to or left with the funeral home.
