Margaret also known as Peg Moore, passed away July 28, 2021 under the care of Hospice while living at the Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St. Paul, Kansas.  She was born June 24, 1931 in St. Paul, and was christened at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul.

She chose a career in nursing and graduated from nursing school in Wichita, Kansas.  “It takes strong character and those who are not afraid”, Florence Nightingale (1854).  Margaret worked as a registered nurse caring for patients with loyalty and commitment.  Each graduate in training takes the Nurses Pledge.  Margaret served her profession faithfully and with honor for over four decades.  She worked for many years in California and Kansas.  She was the oldest female in the family.  She chose the right career, first tirelessly caring for her younger siblings in her youth.  This brought her to the love of caring for others and gave her family a helping hand.

She married Thomas Franklin Moore on May 7, 1954 in Long Beach, California.  The couple lived there for several years, then moved to Wichita, Kansas where they raised their two sons.

Margaret retired, while the couple lived in Parsons, Kansas.  They finally settled in St. Paul, Kansas in 2008, where she lost Frank soon after.

She enjoyed and worked hard in her garden, canning most of what she grew.  She loved planting Bradford Pear Trees around her home and flowers each year.  She loved spending hours quilting and sewing before her sight prevented her from her craft.  She enjoyed visiting and cooking for her siblings who live nearby.  She was truly blessed, only having to enter the nursing home one year before her passing.  She was a caring, loving mother, sister and more to all of her family.  The family just gathered in June to celebrate her 90th Birthday.  Margaret was the family matriarch and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by two sons, Charlie Moore and his wife, Teresa and Tom Moore and his wife, Tonya; Siblings, Vernie Kennedy, Donald “Buck” Kennedy, Mary Hurst, Paul Kennedy and his wife, Sharon, Jake Kennedy and his wife, Bonnie, Charles Kennedy and his wife, Edna and Coleen Schrum; grandchildren, Daytan Moore, Jennifer Moore and step-grandson, Shay Ledbetter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Leona (Allen) Kennedy, her oldest brother Vincent Kennedy and her husband, Frank Moore.

She had many loved nieces, nephews and cousins.  Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul, Kansas.  The Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons is in charge of the arrangements and cremation.  The family is planning a private memorial at a later date.
