Name released of man found dead in Joplin house fire
JOPLIN, Mo. – Joplin police release the identity of a man found dead in a house fire.
On Feb. 23, 2021 at 4:13 p.m., the Joplin Emergency Communications Center took a 911 call about a house fire at 223 S. Galena Avenue in Joplin, Missouri.
Joplin Fire Department firefighters and Joplin Police Department officers responded.
While on scene, firefighters found a man already dead inside the home. According to the Joplin Police Department, detectives responded to the scene and started a death investigation.
The deceased man was identified as Neal E. Fiscus, 60, of Joplin. JPD says an autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
Authorities will release any additional information as it becomes available.
There’s no word yet on whether investigators suspect foul play.
