Man arrested in Lamar murder case, 3 total suspects

LAMAR, Mo. – Authorities find and arrest a man wanted in connection to a Lamar, Missouri murder.

The Lamar Police Department, today, Jan. 18, 2021, shared that David Morris was captured in Grove, Oklahoma. Morris, Tre Ackerson and Lane Bronson are all suspects in the shooting death of Terry Harless.

On July 13, 2020, Lamar police officers got a call around 5:19 a.m. about gunshots. They responded to a home on the 700 block of Broadway. When they got there, they found Terry Harless, 51, dead. Police believed it to be “an isolated incident..” and started investigating the death as a homicide.

On Tuesday, December 15, 2020, as a result of an on-going investigation, the Barton County Prosecutor’s Office charged Lane Bronson, of Webb City, Missouri, with second degree homicide.

On December 23, 2020, two additional men were charged with second degree homicide. That included Tre Ackerson, of Joplin, and David Morris, of Duenweg, Missouri.

Ackerson was in custody at the Jasper County jail for unrelated charges when his warrant was served. They started looking for Morris.
