Madrienne Herlocker

Madrienne Herlocker, 89, of Girard, died at 7:20 a.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2022 in the Westridge Retirement Community in Girard.
Madrienne Herlocker was born February 23, 1933 on a rural Girard farm to parents Glen and Ruby (Stanley) Herlocker. She graduated in 1950 from Girard High School before attending college in Pittsburg for 2 years. Interest in medicine led her to attend Providence Hospital in KC for radiologic technology training.
On June 21, 1953, she married Dr. L.L. Schupbach in Girard Methodist Church. She accompanied him to Houston, Texas for his internship and remained there from 1955 to 1965. While in Houston, she was a technologist at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Fashion was her hobby, as she spent her free time modeling for Neiman Marcus. The couple were blessed with three beautiful children.
After moving back to KC, she was a technologist at Menorah and Research Hospitals. While at Research, she tested and passed for registering as a radiation therapist. Of note, she was chief technologist in therapy at Menorah Hospital and belonged to the American Society of Radiologic and Radiation Therapists.
Circumstances led Madrienne into an early retirement, as she moved back to the SEK area in 1991 to take care of her parents. She was married to Ralph David PhD for several years and formed a lasting blended family. Her later years included endless service to her loved ones, a love of Chiefs and PittState football, and, above all, much time with family and grandchildren. She carried a deep appreciation for family history and co-hosted the annual Herlocker Family Reunion for years.
Madrienne is survived by Ralph David PhD, her children Darla Larkin and spouse Patrick, Tanya Schupbach DC and spouse Kenneth Jacobson, Kevan Schupbach and spouse Dr. Mindi Garner, Jennifer Ortolani and spouse Jamie, and Becky Wills and spouse Corey, and their children Aaron and Erica, April, Alexa, Sierra, Skyler, Marrone and Milan, Andrew and Josh, and Ashlyn and Ben. She also leaves five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Ruby Herlocker, and by Dr. Schupbach.
