JOPLIN, Mo. — Longtime Empire District Electric employee Max Jaeger retired in August of 2021. Last week he passed away. Today linemen, co-workers and friends honor him as he will pass by on West 7th to services in SE Kansas.

“Max, son of the late Wallace and Mary (Osborn) Jaeger, was born on July 12, 1959 in Jacksonville, FL.  He was previously employed with Empire Electric/Liberty Utilities starting in 1976 as a Janitor working his way to a Journeyman Lineman.  The last few years of employment he enjoyed his duties of “grass painting” as a utility locator.  He retired in August after 44 years of service.  In 2014 he was united in marriage to Linda Kay Davenport in Ft. Walton Beach, FL.  Max was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed traveling to the beach and making memories with his family.  He will be greatly missed by numerous friends and family.”
